Extrapolation Method, Stellar Magnitudes

The extended red sensitivity of CCD devices poses the problem to find sources for R and I magnitudes spread all over the sky. It is presented a method that allows to extrapolate R and I (Cousins) magnitudes for known stars for which accurate V and B-V values are known. Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues can be a source of data useful for extrapolating R and I magnitudes suitable in cometary and asteroidal photometry, with an accuracy close to 0.1 magnitudes.
