Wave fronts are covariantly defined for stationary, axisymmetric, asymptotically flat spacetimes. The equations defining the wave fronts are solved in the Schwarzschild and Kerr geometries. Analogies with material media are developed and used to analyze these solutions. The wave-front concept is applied to electromagnetic fields and causality in curved space.
