Scientific paper
Theories of the motions of Tethys, Dione, Rhea and Titan are described. These theories and a theory of the motion of Iapetus are fitted to recent photographic observations, and improved orbital elements are derived. These enable us to decide which of two recent determinations of the mean motions is preferable. The method of analysis used gives accurate determinations of the position of Saturn relative to the background AGK3 stars. A value of the mass of Saturn is obtained which is in good agreement with other determinations. The observational data used are given in an Appendix.
