The generation and emission of gamma radiation in the vicinity of a pulsar due to curvature of magnetic lines of force are considered. The distance at which gamma-rays begin freely to leave the vicinity of a pulsar is determined by taking into account electron-positron pair production by gamma quanta in a strong magnetic field. The maximum frequency and the intensity of pulsar gamma radiation are estimated and found to be in reasonable agreement with the observed parameters of gamma radiation from both young pulsars (NP 0532 and PSR 0833-45) and relatively old ones (PSR 1747-46 and 1818-04). It is noted that the directivity pattern of pulsar gamma radiation does not generally coincide with that of pulsar radio emission; this is taken as a possible explanation for the phase shift of gamma-ray pulses relative to radio pulses that has been observed in three of the four presently known gamma-ray pulsars as well as for the fact that gamma radiation has thus far been observed from only two old pulsars.
