Spectrophotometric observations of six Seyfert galaxies and two QSOs which display strong Fe II emission are presented. The Seyferts include I Zw 1, Mrk 478, Mrk 335, Mrk 618, I Zw 121 No. 1, and II Zw 136; the two QSOs are PKS 1510-08 and 3C 48. It is shown that the Fe II lines in I Zw 1 have profiles and widths very similar to those of the H I lines, that the spectrum of Mrk 478 is quite similar to that of I Zw 1, and that the spectra of the other four Seyferts closely resemble each other as well as that of I Zw 1. These observations are consistent with models in which the Fe II and H I emissions arise from the same discrete clouds or filaments, the rapid relative motions of which are responsible for the observed broad line profiles. Composite spectra are given for the two QSOs, and unusual features in them are discussed. Both resonance fluorescence and collisional excitation are considered as possible mechanisms responsible for the strong Fe II emission observed in the objects examined. An apparent deficiency of QSOs with strong Fe II emission is noted.
