This book presents proceedings of an international conference held at the Institute of Astronomy of Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia, 13- 15 September 2006. The meeting has focused on broad spectrum of problems connected with modelling of stellar atmospheres, spectral line formation, and a derivation of physical parameters and chemical composition of stars. The topics of special interest are an influence of magnetic field, radial pulsations, and departures from LTE on atmospheric structure and emergent radiation, chemical stratification in stellar atmospheres, formation of the spectrum of ultra-cool stars, accretion discs, and binary stars, physical parameters of chemically peculiar stars, cataclysmic variables, and relativistic objects, modification of the instruments and methods of spectral observations.
