Prominences have long been associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and provide an important component in our understanding of the Sun-Earth system as a whole. Although some prominences are long-lived and others erupt or disappear on short time scales, all types of prominences are dynamical and many show mass loss in observations through draining. Such mass loss often occurs without an eruption, while sometimes occurring prior to and/or during an eruption. We explore the relationship between the nature of a prominence eruption (i.e., full, partial, failed) and the associated CME properties (e.g., speed, mass, and energy).
