Results of an analysis of observations of nearby galaxies at 102 MHz by the method of interplanetary scintillations are presented. Compact (scintillating) sources were found in spiral and lens galaxies, but no compact sources were found in elliptical galaxies. It is argued that this result is due to different physical conditions in weakly active galactic nuclei, as was found earlier in classical active nuclei.
