Light curves and phase dependences of the magnitude, color, and polarization of the C-type asteroid 47 Aglaja were observed for 33 nights during September-November 1989. The magnitude-phase relation obtained for phase angles of 0.1-12.9 deg shows a lack of sharp opposition increase of brightness at 0-2 deg that was previously found in high-albedo E-type asteroids. The difference of opposition effect mechanisms for low- and high-albedo asteroids and a possible cause of the difference are indicated.
