Numerical calculations of the interaction betweeen the neutron star crust and electrons with energies between 10 to the 12th and 10 to the 13th eV are used to obtain the coefficient of positron output from the stellar surface. The transfer of neutrons, resulting from photonuclear processes, is calculated in the diffuse approximation. The dependence of the output coefficient on the magnetic field strength is compared with the distribution of pulsars with respect to magnetic field. In the framework of the model of Ruderman and Sutherland (1975), it is concluded that the process of positron output from the surface is dominant for maintaining the stationary vacuum discharge regime in the gap in a considerable number of pulsars.
