What will be the final product of the naked-eye supernova which erupted
in the Large Cloud of Magellan in Feb 1987? As the swirling clouds of
debris slowly disperse, will a pulsar be observed? Claims to have seen
one have already been made; but as we see here, they may be rather
premature.
