It is shown that the Rubin-Ford (RFR) data, often taken as evidence for large scale anisotropic cosmic expansion, probably only reflect the inhomogeneous distribution of galaxies in the region of the Rubin-Ford sample. The data RFR have presented are consistent with isotropic expansion, an unperturbed galaxy velocity field and hence a low density Universe.
