A previous analysis of the temporal variation and spectrum of phase-difference perturbations of radio waves reflected from the ionosphere is discussed. Errors in this analysis are pointed out, and spectra of phase-difference curves are plotted for purely cosinusoidal perturbations consisting of a single wave or two monochromatic waves with different frequencies. It is concluded that the analyzed spectral measurements may be interpreted as a gap in the spectrum caused by local peculiarities of the interaction between neutral and charged atmospheric components.
