The paper examines the possibility of using astronomical time measurements to study the forced nutation of the earth. The fast Fourier transformation is used to analyze short-period nutation, after preliminary exclusion of the tidal nonuniformity of earth rotation from the astronomical observations, and two methods of spectral analysis of nutation are compared. It is found that the effect of errors in the nutation coefficients on clock correction probably is not greater than 0.00013 s.
