The paper considers the thermal equilibrium of an axisymmetric flux tube with longitudinal and transverse magnetic fields in the upper layers of a convective shell. Distortions of the equilibrium structure formed in adjacent nonmagnetic regions are determined for the case of a thin flux tube. In particular, it is shown that the convective heat flux will generally become asymmetric. The possibility is considered that this effect may play an effective role in eliminating the average flux asymmetry caused by rotation of the convection zone. Some problems of solar convection are discussed from this viewpoint.
