The possibility of making differential measurements of the fundamental physical constraints with an accuracy of 0.01 - 0.001% for early cosmological epochs, corresponding to the redshifts z <= 5 is considered. Such measurements can be performed for the fine structure constant α = e^2^/hc, using the resonant doublets ^23^Na I and ^27^A1 III observed in the absorption spectra of quasars.
