The orbital evolutions of 26 comets are investigated, with perturbations from all the planets, Galilean satellites, Jupiter's oblateness, and nongravitational effects taken into account. Whether close encounters of these comets with Jupiter really occurred is examined. The problem of the influence of errors of the initial system of elements is addressed. A series of dynamical evolutions for 10 comets is obtained. The estimates for variations of cometary orbits show that the effect of their 'recession' is noticeable even during a time interval that includes one or two consecutive close encounters of every comet with Jupiter. The effect of Jupiter's oblateness is considered. The dynamical evolutions of orbits of 14 comets are calculated. Critical distances from Jupiter are established for high- and low-velocity encounters. Jupiter's oblateness must be taken into account starting from these distances. Estimates of the variations of cometary orbits show that Jupiter's oblateness significantly transforms the Jovicentric trajectories of comets.
