Near-infrared (between 0.8 and 1.6 micron) spectrophotometry of a strong Fe II forbidden line source MWC 922 is presented, showing two distinct emission-line regions: (1) a high-density region (ne of not less than 10 exp 10/cu cm); and (2) a low-density region (ne of about 10 exp 5/cu cm) which produces the Fe II forbidden line features. The high-density region is similar to the circumstellar envelopes occasionally seen in Be stars and common to young stellar objects, while the low-density region generates emission of exceptional strength. The detections or useful upper limits for nine Fe II forbidden line features between 1.25 and 1.54 micron are used to test the accuracy of theoretically derived transition probabilities. It was found that the measured intensity ratios of all the lines agree with the values predicted from the transition probabilities of Nussbaumer and Storey (1980, 1988) to within 30 percent.
