The dwarf nova UV Persei was observed during the superoutburst and in quiescence state. The superhumps with the period of 95.6 minutes were discovered during the October 1989 superoutburst. Thus, UV Per is a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova with typical properties of this class of stars. Observations in the low state do not show any periodic variability that contradicts the 89.6 minute orbital periodicity reported earlier. Crude estimates of the system parameters indicate that the mass of the secondary is 0.18 or 0.12 solar mass and orbital inclination less than 35 deg.
