I will present recent results on both time evolutions and mode calculations of perturbations of slowly rotating relativistic stars. I will mainly focus on the axial r-modes, where I show that at least to linear order in the rotation rate, r-modes do not exist for certain stellar models, quite in contrast to Newtonian predictions. In those cases where the r-modes exist, the growth times predicted by fully relativistic calculations agree very well with the Newtonian estimates.
