We present ROSAT and radio observations of a high velocity cloud (HVC) which encounters the Milky Way. At the edges of the HVC90.5+42.5-130 X-ray emitting gas (with T_e_~=2.10^6^K) as well as relativistic electrons and magnetic fields (traced by non-thermal radio continuum emission) exist. We propose that the kinetic energy of the HVC is effectively transferred into heat via magnetic drag. The field lines are compressed, turbulently mixed and dissipated via magnetic reconnection, i.e. electric currents.
