A recent analysis by Hoard et al. of FUSE and optical spectra of the nova-like cataclysmic variable MV Lyrae derived a system model and associated synthetic spectrum which accurately fit the observed spectra. Yet that model, with an orbital inclination from the literature of i=12°, produced a synthetic light curve with an amplitude appreciably larger than observed.
We show that optimized light curve fitting, based on our spectrum analysis model, determines an orbital inclination of 7°.
