Several equations are derived which allow for secular perturbations in the motion of an artificial satellite, due to the attraction of an outside body and to the asphericity of a central planet. The equations are obtained on the basis of the symmetrical variation of an Eulerian intermediate orbit which is approximately equal to the product of the flattening and perturbing factors. The magnitudes of the mixed perturbations are estimated and compared with values for the direct influence of perturbing factors on six different satellite orbits.
