The paper describes a series of photographic and visual observations regarding the -7.4 absolute visual magnitude fireball that appeared on August 12, 2002 at 20h 35m 30s UT, which travelled along a luminous trajectory of 260 km over NE Italy, with a mean entrance angle of 6.6° in about 6-8 seconds. From the observational data it was possible to obtain a precisely reduced atmospheric path and some rough considerations about the probable orbital elements and the photometric curve.
