It is now established that the 163 day precession period in SS433 is not constant but shortens and lengthens in a way which might be periodic. In addition, there is regular variation on a timescale of about 6 days, and faster irregular fluctuation. The authors discuss the disc models which have been proposed for this system and how they account for these effects. At the moment no model seems able to explain satisfactorily this interesting object.
