The Suzaku X-ray observation of the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 4051 has allowed for the first detailed analysis of the spectrum and variability above 12 keV. The 0.2-40 keV continuum can be modelled with two components: a nearly constant component, and a second highly variable one. The variability is extreme at lower energies (E < 2 keV) and diminishes with increasing energy. We will present the timing and spectral properties of NGC 4051 and discuss them in light of the current suggested models (e.g. pivoting power law, ionized disc reflection, partial-covering).
