We present VLBA observations of the ground-state hydroxyl masers in W3(OH) at a spectral resolution of 0.02 km s-1. We find no evidence of σ±2,3 components in the satellite-line 1612 and 1720 MHz OH transitions. Use of the standard Zeeman splitting coefficient appropriate for σ±1 components to derive magnetic field strengths appears well justified. Line profiles are generally Gaussian or a combination of several Gaussians, with small normalized deviations from Gaussianity comparable to values obtained in other maser species observed with sufficiently high spectral resolution. The FWHM line widths of ground-state masers range from 0.15 to 0.38 km s-1, with the upper half of this range consisting entirely of 1665 MHz masers. Pronounced positional gradients are seen as a function of LSR velocity. Consistent with theoretical models, equivalent velocity gradients are found to be small for 1667 MHz masers.The National Radio Astronomy Observatory is a facility of the National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc.
