The Galactic Center is the most intensely studied region of the Galaxy in all wavelengths. The Chandra X-ray Observatory detected over 3000 X-ray point sources within 8 arcmin of SgrA*. About 400 of them are soft (detected in <2keV) sources. As part of the Chandra Multiwavelength Plane (ChaMPlane) survey program, we searched their optical counterparts in our deep V, R, I and Hα images taken with the CTIO-4m-Mosaic. About 10% of the hard (>2keV) sources have optical matches within their error circle. But due to severe extinction, most of them are coincident matches with foreground stars. However, almost 80% of the soft sources have true opticalcounterparts with R<24, lying in the foreground of the Galactic Center. We have conducted spectroscopic follow-up on most of these optical counterparts. Combining our spectral study and the quartile analysis (see poster by Hong et al.), we present the results of the classification, estimated NH and distance of the stellar objects responsable for these soft X-ray emissions.
