On May 26, 1983, the scientific satellite Exosat was placed into earth orbit by the European Space Agency (ESA). The various experiments of the satellite record electromagnetic radiation involving the range from hard UV radiation to hard X-rays. Cosmic X-ray sources have been observed for almost a year. The eccentric orbit makes it possible to conduct uninterrupted observatiosn of a source for up to 80 hours. A few of the most interesting pictures obtained with the aid of the Exosat are shown, taking into account Cyg X-1, the Pleiades, four supernova remnants, individual X-ray sources in the central area of the spiral galaxy M, the Coma cluster, and M 87.
