Recent results from spectrographic studies of the Schueler band of ammonium are discussed. The Rydberg radical has been produced in Tesla, ionizer, ac, dc, microwave, corona dc and flash discharges and by modulated laser frequency absorption and electron beam excitation. The strongest Schueler bands have been observed at the highest pressures. Wavenumber data for ND4 and NH4 are presented, together with data on (N-15)D4, (N-14)D3H, (N-14)D2H2 and (N-14)DH3. No certain values could be ascertained for the electronic and vibronic ground data. The data may be of use in identifying yellow and green absorption bands observed in diffuse interstellar lines.
