Scientific paper

The paper describes a two-dimensional numerical model of the stimulated development of Rayleigh-Taylor instability (RTI) and associated bubbles in the ionospheric plasma in the equatorial F-region. Numerical experiments using the model show that the RTI and the bubbles can be stimulated by the injection of a small amount of H2O vapor. The characteristic times of the development of the stimulated bubbles depend on the mass of the injected vapor and background zonal electric fields.
