The results of the simulation of the gravity wave activity are discussed. A luminous layer of given finite thickness and profile is assumed. It is modulated with gravity waves of typical wavelengths and amplitudes representative of the gravity wave spectrum. The image is generated by integrating the luminous intensity along the line of sight, through the layer at the angles representing each picture element. The obtained results and published observations are compared. It is shown which waves of the spectrum are most prominent in the images. Ground-based imaging and imaging from space are also compared.
