Opacities for the King IVa mixture are presented using two physical models. In both models the spectral lines were calculated for an ensemble of ionic specimens whose abundances with regard to charge state and electronic configuration were determined according to the Boltzmann statistics. In the first model only the charge states and electronic configurations were treated explicitly; no allowance was made for the dispersion of spectral lines due to the different angular momentum states of the many-electron system. In the second model the dispersion of spectral lines due to the angular momentum states was approximated by broadening the lines.
