The values of the initial mass function (IMF) and the luminosity of six Magellanic Cloud (MC) star clusters ranging in age between 10 Myr and 2.5 Gyr (and including the NGC 330 cluster in the SMC) were determined from the results of B and V observations obtained with the CTIO 0.9 m and 4 m telescopes. Results indicate that the IMFs of all six clusters are consistent with a single IMF slope of x = 2.5, where the Salpeter value is 1.35. This result does not depend on the passband or on the detailed stellar evolution models that are used. A comparison between the present IMF results and those of other studies on galactic clusters suggests that the IMF slopes of MC clusters vary over a wide range and there are no apparent correlation between the IMF slope and any global-cluster properties.
