Radial velocities of the spectroscopic binary HD 189578 were obtained at the Observatoire de Haute Provence by means of the coude spectrograph and the Coravel spectrometer in order to determine orbital elements. Values reported include P = 14.0420 days; T = 45596.4 JD; omega = 6.6 deg; e = 0.065; K = 41.6 km/sec; Vo = +4.3 km/sec; a sin i = 8.01 x 10 to the 6th km and f(m) = 0.104 solar mass. The secondary star, not visible in these spectra, would be a dwarf G5-K0 star, and the separation components should be about 32 solar radii.
