The serendipitious Wide Field Camera images from the HST Medium Deep Survey (MDS) provide a unique source of high spatial resolution V and I band images of distant galaxies. The brighter (typically I ~ 19--21 mag) galaxies in the MDS fields are being deconvolved and morphological types assigned. Length scales have been derived for the sample, and colors and magnitudes determined. Here we present some preliminary results from our analysis. Length scales can be determined reliably at levels impractical from ground--based data. Current surveys indicate that these low--density field objects are likely to have redshifts that typically lie in the range z ~ 0.2--0.4. As such they provide a unique resource for comparison with the properties of cluster galaxies at comparable redshifts, as well as their obvious utility in constraining changes in properties from present day galaxies.
