Present knowledge on cometary nuclei is reviewed. Models of the nuclei
are discussed, and the activity in the nucleus and jets is described.
The rotation of the nucleus and its detection are addressed, stressing
the halo method of detection. The determination of the diameter of
cometary nuclei is discussed.
