We report observations of Her X-1 made by one of the Spectroscopy Detectors (SD) of the Burst and Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO) during the main-on state of 12 Feb to 21 Feb 1993. The goals of these observations were to characterize the continuum spectrum and the cyclotron line, and to confirm the detector's energy resolution. The data was accumulated by on-board folding at the 1.24 s pulse period into 16 channels extending up to 1300 keV. The 12 to 77 keV band is covered by 14 channels. The pulsations were clearly detected. Further results will be presented. M. S. Briggs acknowledges support from the CRGO Fellow program, grant GRO/PFP-91-06.
