Eight high-dispersion spectrograms (8.5 Å/mm) from 1981 and 1982 were used to measure the radial velocities and for qualitative analysis of spectral line profiles. The development of the absorption components of the spectral lines was observed during the whole observation period and, in the summer of 1981, also rapid changes of the red-wing profiles of the absorption components, which lead to the separation of metals into two components. In 1982, an increase in the intensity of emission lines, of the blue continuum and of the velocity gradient of the absorption components of Balmer's series was observed. For the purpose of explaining the phenomena observed, CH Cygni was assumed to be of binary substance.
