It is shown how under conditions of gaseous nebulae, the temperature
Te and the density Ne can be derived from observed
Si III fluxes at λλ 1206.5, 1301, 1882.7, 1892.0.
Transition probabilities among the energetically 17 lowest terms are
given and theoretical line intensity ratios are calculated.
