Five series of automated measurements of North Sky Survey plates were conducted for various threshold values. An optimal measurement regime was chosen, which produced minimal rms errors in measuring the position of stars with various diameters and a normal distribution of residual deviations of position. The rms position errors are given and compared with the errors from other automated measuring systems.
