Consideration is given to peculiarities in the distribution of particles along the orbits of meteoroid showers during regular and stochastic motion governed by perturbations from Jupiter. A two-dimensional mapping is derived, taking the structure of 1:j-prime resonances into account. The mapping is used in the statistical simulation of meteoroid showers. Examples of calculations are given for the distribution functions of the Perseids and Lyrids.
