A homogeneous atmosphere scattering anisotropically with Dirac delta-function type time-dependent incidence is considered. The method of integral operator developed by Ambartsumian and the theory of N-solutions developed by Busbridge (1960) to find the corresponding H-function (in semiinfinite atmosphere) and X- and Y-functions (in finite atmosphere).
