Two months of Stromgren photometry confirms the basic 3.763 day light-curve period of the WN 5 star HD 50896. Superposed on that period are occasionally found in the four pass bands four secondary maxima, and one dramatic flux change. The periodic and semiperiodic light variability is caused by continuum variations, but the sudden flux change is more likely caused by emission line strength variations. Although pulsation cannot be ruled out, the continuum variations are possibly caused by brightness discontinuities on the surface of the corotating WR star.
