Takeo Hatanaka was a leading astronomer from after the war to 1960s. He began radio astronomy at Tokyo Astronomical Observatory in good earnest after the war and proposed the way to make use of the space all his later life. He is well known as the author of "Hoshi to Uchu". But he had died in 1963 when he was forty-nine. Those who know Takeo Hatanake say, "If he lived longer, astronomy in Japan would have greater progress". I have interest on Takeo Hatanaka since my student age and I have investigated him these several years. This report shows Takeo Hatanaka's life according to my research. I hope this report makes your interest on him higher.
