The great abundance of galactic high-velocity clouds indicates that they are important for the evolution of the Galaxy. It also suggests that other galaxies must contain neutral hydrogen clouds with kinematics very different from that of a settled disk. The occurrence and properties of such Hi clouds with anomalous kinematics in external galaxies are reviewed.
