Rings and shells observed around some Planetary Nebulae and post-AGB stars reflect a mass loss activity. A mass loss fluctuation can be related in part to the pulsational behaviour of AGB stars: Miras and Semiregulars. The observation of pulsational instabilities or oscillating periods could help us to better understand the causes and the evolution of these rings.
