Spectral (covering Hα and Hβ regions) and UBV photometric observations of the young star LkHα 324 carried out in 1983 - 1985 are presented. The spectrum of the star shows strong Hα emission, whereas the contribution of Hβ emission completely {blurs} the absorption line profile. The brightness variation of LkHα 324 did not exceed 0m.3, the mean values of V ≈ 12m.75, B-V ≈ +1m.13 and U-B ≈ +0m.44. The comparison of the UBV data with the bulk of previous photometric results allows to conclude that within the period from 1975 to 1980 the star has experienced a remarkable brightening with amplitude ΔV > 1m. Significant changes in its spectrum are probably connected with this phenomenon.
