We report detection of the CO (2-1) line in the planetary nebulae NGC 2346 and 6720 (the Ring Nebula). Estimates of the amounts of molecular material associated with the CO emission yield ratios of molecular/ionized masses of >0.13 and >0.07 for NGC 2346 and 6720, respectively. Thus a significant fraction of each nebula has not yet been ionized by the central star.
