The slopes and heights of regolith-covered craters and grooves allow for
the estimation of the lower limits of regolith strength. Estimates of
the mechanical properties of Phobos regolith include the following: (1)
a value for soil cohesion in the range of 0.001-0.07 N/sq cm, and (2) a
viscosity angle in the range of 5-30 deg.
